Fine Tea Whisk for tea ceremony
Made from 100 hand-cut bamboo splits by craftsmen in Kyoto, Japan.
This bamboo whisk is the most traditional size and shape made in Japan.
Elevate your daily tea ritual with our Artisanal 100-Prong* Bamboo Matcha Whisk (Chasen). Handcrafted from a single piece of sustainable, natural bamboo, this traditional tool is engineered to create the ultimate cup of frothy, smooth matcha. With 100 fine, flexible tines, it effortlessly dissolves clumps and aerates your tea, delivering a velvety micro-foam that enhances the natural sweetness of your ceremonial brew.
Why Choose the 100-Prong Chasen?
Micro-Foam Perfection: The high prong count creates thinner, more flexible bristles that easily trap air, producing a thick, creamy froth perfect for thin matcha (usucha).
Smooth Flavor: Meticulously eliminates unblended powder clumps, removing unwanted bitterness and ensuring a consistent texture from the first sip to the last.
100% Natural Craftsmanship: Hand-carved without any chemical glues, paints, or lacquers, preserving the purity and authentic taste of your tea.
Durable & Flexible: Designed with curled inner tips that gently expand when soaked, providing the resilience needed for everyday whisking without scratching your matcha bowl.
Care Instructions
Pre-Soak: Dip the prongs in warm water for 1 minute before whisking to soften the bamboo.
Whisk: Use a brisk, swift "W" or "M" wrist motion rather than a circular stir.
Dry: Rinse with warm water after use, shake off excess water, and dry upright or on a whisk holder (chasen yasume).
*A greater number of tines will create a finer froth of matcha tea.
