With a background in textile and accessories design, and a career spanning product development and sourcing across the home and architecture industries, Anri Izai has long been immersed in the world of materials and craft. Her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, along with travels through countries like Peru and Vietnam, deepened her appreciation for traditional textile practices and the artistry of handwork.

Today, Izai draws on these experiences to create handwoven and hand-dyed textiles that reflect both her Japanese heritage and a contemporary sensibility. Working with floor and table looms, as well as hand knitting and natural dyeing—particularly Japanese indigo—she embraces the meditative rhythm of making and the beautiful imperfections that arise through touch and time.

Clean lines, subtle textures, and a quiet balance of function and beauty define her work. Each piece is a reflection of thoughtful process—an object that honors tradition while speaking to the present.
